Art of the Bicycle

I attended the bicycle swap meet at the Go Away Garage during the Art of the Bicycle annual art show and set up a booth to sell my necklaces (with my trusted Schwinn in the background). I made the necklaces with bicycle clip art and sold a total of six. There was a lot of vintage bike swaping going on and it was fun being in the middle of it all.

KC Adventure

Husband had a work meeting in Kansas City so I took the day off from my job and loaded Hoolie up in the truck. He went to the office in Westport and I headed towards the Plaza. A man was playing frisbie with his dog in the fountain and I had him snap a picture of me and my ride. Oh, how I love my Schwinn and the places we go. Besides shopping on the Plaza (Anthropology and Urban Outfitters!) my main destination (as always) was to Brookside. There's a running path down Brookside Boulevard that leads to my most favorite shop in KC and the bling creations of Amy Labbe. Just another pretty handmade bauble to add to the collection.

Summer Nights

That pretty girl wearing one of my soldered necklaces is niece Amy. We took off on our motorcycles for Kingman tonight and ended up stopping at Sonic for ice cream. Cool summer nights make for perfect riding weather and as an added bonus to a special day, we met up for a sushi lunch earlier in the day.

Solo Golf

I saw some improvements in my golf game this Tuesday and really wanted to play again tonight after work. Both my golf buds were busy so I put on my big girl panties and set up a tee time by myself. I've never played alone before and I did fine. In fact, I ended up walking all 18 holes and learned something about myself. I actually play better at a faster pace. That is until around the 17th hole where I ran out of steam. It's good to know this is something I can do comfortably more often. Watch out girls - I'll be getting in some practice time!

Texas 4th of July

In all the years I've gone to Texas to visit family, this was the first time I made it a motorcycle road trip. I invited my best riding bud, Melanie, and we called it a Girls' Run Weekend. Storms were all around us but good karma followed us most of the way. We spent a night in Dallas

and hung around Easyriders Strokers Ice House and up the road toured the way cool bike shop and museum, The Old Bike Shop.

Then we were off to Cedar Creek Lake for a weekend of fun and fireworks with my grandma, aunts, uncle and cousins complete with BBQ and bonfires. Oh, and there
was lots of shopping too at the 1st Monday Flea Market in Canton. It was 850 miles of motorcycle adventures and girl fun. I'll roll with you anywhere, Melanie!
