I get up early on the weekends to sit outside on my patio. I like to listen to the radio and the sound of the sprinkler heads ticking, burn pinion wood in the chimenea, citronella candles and incense from New Mexico. Sometimes I wonder what my neighbors think of all the smoke coming from my house - hopefully they enjoy it as much as I do. This morning, I'm hand carding alpaca for a special project. There may come a day when I invest several hundred dollars into a carding machine but right now I enjoy the slower, traditional way of combing the fibers by hand. My funny-faced dog, Sheba, sits close by thinking the combs may be for her next.
